How many miles on your 4th Gen?
I'm pretty new here, so forgive me if this has already been brought up, but I'm just wondering what kind of mileage everyone else has on their 4th gens. Mine is a 96 that has acquired 338,000 so far in it's wonderful little life. No problems so far, except the change engine light junk that cost 900 for the previous owner, and leaky tires that I just had to replace. Anyone else in this year range got me beat?

340K is a big accomplishment...but may i ask how many of those miles have you driven. I just bought a 99 SE with 107K miles...and have only driven about 500 in the 2 weeks ive had the car.

Thats in miles. I got it with 312,000. In the 17 months i've had it, I added the other 26,000.
Ya'll want picture of the car, or the odometer for proof? haha
That's the most recent pic, I don't have too many of the outside because it's quite plain, entirely stock. I've just started taking a photography class in school, so I'll be getting really creative soon and getting some shots that do her justice.

I have a 95SE 5-speed, the same color as yours, with 66,840 one-owner mostly highway miles on it, so I guess I'm good to go for another 50 years!
The car might make it, but I won't, lol!

OK. I'll bite. 265,566 miles. Bought used with 65,000 miles. Original engine, second transmission (5-spd). Original suspension (worn but still decent-no bouncing)-original paint, original seats-you get the idea....
Soon it will all change....

The fundamental reason 338,000 miles is surprising, at this time, for a 1996 Maxima is that even if the car were bought in October 1995 when released, it would have had to average almost 30,000 miles per year (338K miles/11.333years).
Only a travelling salesman or someone commuting a considerable distance daily would be able to average 30K/year over such a prolonged time-frame.
I have seen posting in the past year or so at over 300K, but they would be rare at this point in time, but likely not so rare 3 to 5 years from now.
I saw a European Maxima mentioned in a post over a year ago. It was a taxi, with the VQ engine, with over 1 million kilometres on it (621K miles plus). This may go to show that high annual mileage users may in fact get a lot more than 300K out of a Maxima if they are properly maintained.

my 98 5MT has 183K miles (295,000KMS). Runs strong, the original clutch and tranny where in the car till 176K miles(284,000KMS). The tranny blew because of the diff problem, then the clutch was replaced. Nothing major has gone wrong with the car...now my valve cover leaks other then that and the tranny nothing.
even with 180K miles on the car i still managed a 14.89@93 stock. I do have elevation on my side though (mission race way 24ft above sea level)

95 Se 5-speed. 179k miles on it. I got it last May with 160k on it. Drove it from CT to North Carolina and back again last summer and this spring break planned a trip to Florida with it. Runs GREAT and mods have seemed to improve the way it runs.
