Perplexing vibration.

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a slight vibration in the car at certain speeds. It has been growing progressively worse the more miles I add. It's not in the drivetrain. Have a slight alignment tug, but only slight. Very little vibration in the steering wheel. The problem is evident at all speeds now. Some speeds are worse, but it's getting to the point where you can't differentiate. It is hard to tell where the source of the vibration is, but as best as I can tell it's in the rear.

This problem is causing an incredibly annoying harmonic hum from my headliner and panels. Not to mention driving me crazy. I jacked up each corner and spun the wheels but couldn't locate a 'hiccup' or stutter of any kind. I also pulled each wheel off and checked for anything loose. Nothing.

It's raining a bit and I have the 93 apart in the garage, so I can't pull this one in. Anyone have any ideas until the clouds break up and I can look closer? I'm thinking bearing, but I don't feel a bad bearing.

Thanks in advance.

Its weird to me that you feel it in the steering wheel but think its in the rear. Most of the time when you feel it in the wheel, that indicates a problem with the front wheels. I say first off that it COULD be your rotors, next would be bearing. also check your axles. hope this helps

Sorry about the mistatement. I feel slight pulsing in the steering wheel, but I believe it's from the alignment being off just a tad.
It's not the vibration that warped rotors give. Brakes look great. Axles are fine. I suppose I can replace the rear bearings with minimal cost and time. If it helps, the vibration is 'fast'. As I said earlier, it's almost harmonic.

Humm... Alignment usually just makes the car pull to the left or right and can wear your tires unevenly. The only conclusion that i can come to then is your bearings. Get those fixed then if it still doesn't solve the problem at least you will be riding on fresh bearings.

count the frequency that you hear this noise at. If at 30MPH you hear it about 3 times per second then it is definately related to how fast your wheels are turning. Does it get louder when you hit the gas? Does it get louder or go away when you turn in any one direction?

Just from what you said it sounds like what started happening to me when my differential bearings first started to fail. (not to scare you lol)

It could also be wheel bearings, or it could be something else I guess. lol

I believe it has no relation to the drivetrain. There is no change in noise with the clutch pedal depressed except for the decrease in speed. Too fast to count at 30mph. The last speed I can hear the cycle at is around 10 mph. After that it's a constant. It does go away when I make sharp veers to the right. Sharp. Very SHARP.
I appreciate the responses.

I think I have the exact same noise but I can't quite pinpoint it either, it sounds like it's coming from the rear. I even tried spraying soundproofing in my trunk and it made no difference. Keep us posted on the problem.

It's looking like the right rear hub assembly. Let you know after I replace it. Thanks for those who shared their input.
Quick aside: Anyone know of aftermarket selling these hubs(rear)?

It was, indeed, the right rear hub assembly. $124 @ the dealership after tax. Fairly easy swap. No more vibration. She rides smooth, again. Thanks to all.
