OFFICIAL Drop pics thread. READ RULES BEFORE POSTING!

Here are the rules:

No Replies just to say "nice car" or "looks good!" If you need to ask a question about a certain part or wheel type or something like that, please try a PM first. If you don't have the 15 posts needed to make a new post or a PM, please be patient. I want for this to be a resource of PICTURES and IMAGES.

You MUST list the brand of the suspension and should list the drop advertised by the manufacturer. Also, you are encouraged to list wheel type and size including offset, if known AND tire size. You MAY also list body mods, tint percentage, etc. Make it so that those people who DO search CAN find your car and/or mods.

No flaming.

You MAY post new pics after you make changes, add parts, etc. When you post the pics, please try to have the car clean and the image in focus. You MAY post pics of the tires as they apper in the wheel wells- these close-up pics can help people see how the car sits on the new suspension. Also, before and after shots ARE permitted, but please be smart abotu it. I don't want double posts because there was something wrong with the old picture. Please, no doo-doo cell phone pics.

Please, PLEASE try to keep the links current. I will delete any red "X" pics. I will try to notify you first, but lets try to keep this clean.

Please do not post huge pic files. Resize them, rehost them, crop them, whatever you have to do to keep them in the confines of the org's standard forum width.

Lastly, this, like the n00bie questions thread, will only stay open as long as I feel like maintaining it. If it becomes a problem, it will be locked and/or deleted.

Please try to play nice. I don't have to do this, but I thought it over and it seems like a cool idea.

How do I post a picture?

You have to host the picture on the internet or on a server, NOT on your harddrive. You take the link or url to the picture and insert it between 2 "img" tags. The "img" tags look like this:

{img}insert url here{/img}

Note: You have to replace the { and } tags with [ and ] to make it work.

If you need places to host photos, try photobucket.com or another photo hosting site. I love cardomain and all, but sometimes their pic server goes nuts. (Anyone with other hosting recommendations, please PM me).

How do I accurately measure my drop?
If you REALLY want to help people to determine how a drop affects the car, you may want to take before and after measurements. The proper way to do this is to measure from your HUB CENTER to the wheel well- not from the ground to the wheel well. This will tell you how far the car REALLY dropped. Be aware that this often will change after the car has settled for a few days, so you might want to wait a week before making the "After" measurement.

My '99 w/ GR2's and H&R springs and stillen camber plates.

My '95 with ground controls and illuminas. Lowered 2" front, 1.5" rear.

This setup will be going on the 99 soon.

17x8 Borbet type E's on both cars, 235/45/17 tires on both cars also. They are the same rims actually, I just painted them a little while back.

1996 GLE (Auto- duh) on H&R and Tokico HP. Rims Mille Miglia MM-11^2 16x7 Tires 225/50/16:

1997 Infiniti I30t on Intrax and KYB AGX (same rims):

It is not just the picture angle- on the Intrax, the rear looked like it was sagging in person as well. It really was NOT, but it looked like it.

My 1997 I30t just prior to destruction. Specs: 15x7 BBS Q45a rims with Falken Ziex Ze-512 tires in 225/60/15. Tein H-Tech springs on Illumina rears and AGX fronts. No body mods other than the side marker lights and cleared tail lights. 35% tint.

More pics available on my CarDomain page including some close-up wheelwell comparisons, a review of the different suspension behaviors, and more shots. Lots of minor interior mods and upgrades there, too.

Eibach pro kit, Tokico Hp's, Riax Zuka 18's, and Riken Raptor's 225/40/18:

The ride is not bad. I think people on here have been a little harsh describing Eibach's ride quality. NE Ohio's roads are pretty bad, I'd say a bump/ chuckhole (size of bowling ball or bigger) every 5 feet somewhere on the road. You would look like a BAD drunk driver trying to dodge every hole. You feel the cracks a little, but they do not 'hit.' I DO wish it sat .5" lower, but for our roads and a daily driver, I'll take the loss on the tuck over ride quality.
