ABS lit up - dammit!

So yea, I was trying to get on my driveway tonight in the huge snow that came over Cleveland tonight. When doing so, my car almost got stuck in the snow, and I revved the engine up to about 4-5k on my auto I30. About 10 seconds later, my ABS light came on. Why did this happen?

download the FSM and pull the ABS codes. that will tell you what the problem is.

You were spinning the front wheels while the rear wheels were stationary. This makes the ABS freak out. It's perfectly normal. It happens during dyno testing too. The light will go away after driving around a few minutes.

Happens to me all the time when it's raining or what not...I just normally shut my car off at a stop light after it happens then turn it back on and its off...And normally when you spin the tires that much the car freaks out and locks itself in 2nd gear. so you can't go down into 1st.

I had this problem in my dad's 99 Toyota Solara. I parked on a hill and forgot that the ebrake was on. I put the car in drive and started to go...the front tires spun and the ABS light started going crazy. I was scared ****less cause he was trading in the car the next day, however the light went off after 45 seconds of driving.

If it stays on you have a problem that needs to be looked at.
