Just did the DR MOD

Finally did the DR MOD and i have to say....

1st to 2nd shift.... big difference.
while shifting to 2nd it pulls the car to the side and shifts hard as hell..even a small chirp in one run.

2nd to 3rd shift.... nice difference.
while shifting to 3rd it feels a lot more smooth but quick.. No hard shift, just quicker & smoother!

3rd to 4th shift..... have not been on the highway yet... only up to 80mph then a fast break back down to 50mph "not trying to get pulled"

all in all "so far" for less than 10 dollors, this mod is well worth it for the auto guys out there.

Big thanks to Jime on the org.

Thats not an everyday mod, so I suggest you remove it unless you want to buy a new tranny..

Mobletec VB, I think it compares to stage2/3 of the maxtunning one. I like it. 2800 stall Edge Racing tq.

I plan to get rid of it by the summer and either go 6speed or 5speed.

Long story short, I have a "bastard" tranny in there right now and I don't want it.

I really want to do that - but this junkyard 3.0 just won't die....

If you feel like another try at a VLSD, try Barid's in Kentucky - they deliver.

What are you going to do to the auto tranny to work the 3.5? Isn't it a bad idea?

It works for Jime --- It's a direct bolt-up, you know....

Yeah I know the 3.5 will bolt up to the 4th gen auto but wasnt it said that the 4spd auto couldnt handle the power of the 3.5 without doing a full shift kit and tranny cooler?

Anybody that races any automatic will put in a better tranny cooler and Mobil1. I don't know anybody that put in "a full shift kit" when connecting to a 3.5L. Maybe there is one out there,.....

Idk that's why I'm asking. I thought that the VB mod was needed to make the tranny stronger for that stuff. Apparently I've been way off with all this tranny crap.

Yeah ......... read "Shift_fast_2" mod..... stuff in "All Motor" thread ..

All yanking aside ( I gotta get out of the forum - I'm getting a rash) . if you use the automatic right, and treat it right, It's at LEAST as good as any manual, and ALWAYS more consistent shifting - and harder, as well...

Thanks to Jime, I figured out how to control shifts with hardware - yes, a mod - but the VLSD stock automatic is very impressive - mine shifts at 6400 RPMs every gear, with full internal pressure boost, and really spins the M&H slicks even going into third gear. 1>2 = BAM 2>3 = BAM. And it's another junkyard dog... a tough one, too...
