Did you replace your Y-pipe hanger?
I'm going to be installing my Cattman exhaust (from Y-pipe to muffler) in the next few weeks and was wondering if you guys bothered putting in a new OEM y-pipe hanger...or, did you just leave it out? I'm assuming the y-pipe would have enough support from being bolted to the manifolds and cat, but just wanted to get the forum's advice on whether the hanger is necessary.
BTW, I don't even know what the hell the hanger looks like as my car didn't have one when I bought it. Anyone want to be a pal and post a pic for me?

I used the original OEM hanger. It seemed to be a more substantial unit as compared to the after market one (warpspeed). The hanger just keeps everything supported, and most importantly keeps the flex section straight. If not for the hanger the flex section would be under a constant flex and produce the "bees in the can" sound. Sorry i do not have a pic of the hanger.

You need the hanger and it should be in good shape as well. If it's all rusted out, replace it. The hanger keeps everything secure, if it fails the gasket at the cat usually fails shortly after from the constant movement.
My stock hanger was all rusted and was too small to fit around my Budget y-pipe. I've just been running without the hanger for around a month and it seems to be fine, but I'm gonna put a new hanger from warpspeed in when I replace the cat once the snow melts.
