I just started getting a weird sound coming from my pulley area yesterday. I would describe it as a metal against metal sound. Its not like a shrieking sound, but rather a sound as if something is lightly grinding against something. If anyone has any familiarity with turning rotors, that is the sound it sounds similiar too. It not too loud, but def. noticeable.

I had my ac compressor replaced last summer (along with the pulley on the compressor). I dont know if this can contribute to the sounds or not. I would like to not think it is that considering its new and was 1200 dollars.

Any input would be great, ill be crawling under her tonight to see if i can see anything, but any heads up on what i could also look out for would be great.

 

look at it as soon as possible. My experiences with that have led to pulleys scrapping with screws close by, out of alignments, something that needs attention.

Take a look at it asap, before you get home and look one day when you get time and dont even see the pulley there (happened to me also).
