Foglight bulbs

Foglight bulb question:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...e=1258&ptset=A

It's pretty expensive.
The second choice is this:

It's a mini bulb for 5 bucks. Has anyone used it, and how dim is it compared to the other bulb? Yeah, I'm being cheap but when you're broke you have no choice

i wouldn't get the first one, it's an overwattage bulb.

my advice is just walk in to the store and get the cheapest h3 bulb they've got. I assume you're using stock fogs and on our 96' they're especially useless. So if that's the case just get the cheapest.

not exactly true. it depends on what you want your foglights to do for you. if you want them nice and white, get the silverstars (but go to a parts store to get them so there's no shipping charge or no waiting). if you want the stock look, then get a normal H3. on the other hand, if you want them to be more functional at night by having a yellow glow, find you some yellow bulbs like piaa ion crystals which are less reflective but much better in inclimate weather.

The foglight bulbs in our cars are mainly there for cosmetic reasons. I wouldn't recomend silverstar H3's because their life expectancy is horrific (100 hrs) not to mention its $20 a pop. Just get the cheepo ones at your local part store save your money and spend last time on your knees. No tint equals more light.

There's basically no proof that yellows work better in fog. THeoretically I believe your statement is sound; but I've seen a few studies that show in real world applications it doesn't matter which color you use. Now I do think yellows look nicer on some setups. And I repeat that our stock fogs are pretty much non functional. If you want fogs that work as intended, get some aftermakets, otherwise keep the clean stock look and get whatever bulb/color you want. Just make sure it's the standard 55w H3
