installed addco RSB today
#1
A friend of mine gave it to me, otherwise I woulda gotten the stillen d/t the bushings and adjustability part. Anyway, I did a horrible job on the install since I felt sick, but the results are significant. I highly suggest investing $130 into this, as it blows the FSTB away. You guys with em know what I mean...
First off, the instructions from addco (bought at shox.com) were horrible. I just laughed at the picture. I could've done just as well with no instructions. This leads me to my 1st question: the "base plate" with one hole larger than the other - I assume this goes on the trailing arm due to the "adjustability" - does the big hole go on the top or bottom of the trailing arm?
I did not use a jack or anything. I ruined my shirt on the ground crawling under the car so many times. I highly recommend anyone installing one to jack up the car and use jack stands. This part killed me....use jack stands!!!
The U bolts that came with it were a wee bit too small to fit over my trailing arms. I had to beat them on, trying my best not to frewk up the threads. hehe. But, I made em fit anyway.
My 2nd question, since the search on this site simply will not work for me any longer How should I set this thing as far as "stiffer" or "looser"? Right now, the "bar" is adjusted almost all the way to the front of the axle, while I have about an inch on the ends of the bar to enable me to slide it back. What do u guys suggest? Keep in mind I have STOCK suspension (except for the FSTB) on a 96 GLE with damn near 100k miles.
ANY suggestions are open, please, if you have ANY ideas, help me out.
Thanks for the help!!!!
