Help starting my car

I have been having problems with my 97 S.E. Basically the car won't start. I replaced the starter and that solved the problem for about three days, the rebuilt starter went bad. I did put another rebuilt starter, but the car won't start, there is only a clicking noise, but it does not even crank over. After reading here of others having similar problems, I went ahead and bolted a grinding wire from the engine block to the short bolt on the starter, but it did not help.
I want to check the starter relay and ignition switch next. Where exactly is this relay? I see one that reads IGN (ignition?) is that the same? and how do you check the ignition switch? is this at the steering wheel column?

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated

Probably your ignition switch. Same thing happend to me when my ignition switch went bad, I thought it was the starter, but it was the switch.

ING= ignition. i dont really think there is a check for it. other then to replace it and see if its fixed. Its less then $50 more like 30$, seems often enough that they do break.

it is at the steering wheel column remove the upper and lower cover, it should resemble this

Thanks a lot TurTle* and Vlasic for your help. I will try changing the switch and see what happens.

A quick question for those of you that have replaced your ignition switch.
Do all the indicator lights come on the dash when you turn the key to the on position when your switch is bad?
Just trying to trouble shoot before I replace it.

I just read on another post( Thanks ZX2max)that there is a TSB for a ground strap from the transmission to somewhere in the car. I'm going to check for that while I wait for the dealer to order me a ignition switch
