Bad day for the i30krab

I'm driving down charleston and my car dies at the light. Luckily a few guys helped me push the car into a small shopping center.
I started checking all fuses and lines and found nothing. Then I tried to start the car and it ran momentarily and then died. I'm thinking it sounds like fuel starvation so I shut off everything and turned on the ignition and I couldn,t hear the fuel pump priming. I know I can always hear it if I'm listening . I tried numerous times and same thing happened,
I had the car flat bedded to my garage which fortunately was a few miles away.
I hope it's just the fuel pump or a relay etc.
Are there any sensors that could fail and cause this problem?

The fuel pump should prime the system in ignition regardless of any sensors being bad, so it's either the fuse, relay, wiring, or pump itself.

starts, but then dies right away? im goin with the fuel pump. try starting it but holding the gas pedal down. if it stays running with the pedal down then as soon as u let off the car dies, you know the pumps bad.

You told me about the fuel pump rewire so i assume you have it too. Same problem happened to me. Changed the relay for the rewire and started right up.

kick the bottom of the gas tank a few times. That will sometimes get the pump to turn on for long enough to get to where ever you're going. and if it is the case that you can kick it and it will run, you have a bad pump.

haha i think all car repair manuals should list this as Step 1: Hit it. If it still does not work, move to Step 2.

Your car has massive amount of work done to it. Very harsh to hear about this situation. Is there any other signs or symptoms of the problem? I cannot determine root cause from just what you put down on the thread. Please post more of your findings. I cannot stop learning.

You could remove the rear seat bottom and tap the cover? Or at least check if it's getting power?

I love some of your suggestions! I tried them all even kicking my wife
but nothing worked

But remember I said I couldn't hear the fuel pump prime? It was the fuel pump . and it is my fault because I let the fuel tank run to almost empty too
many times!

Err...as far as I've seen, the only thing accomplished there is a couple nights on the couch, at best.

Damn this may be true. Same thing happened when I had a 3rd gen. Used to run that gas very low. Now I fill at half a tank or even a little over a quarter.

Are you doing the repair yourself or making the shop do it?

I was only a few miles from the shop when I broke down so the shop had my car flat bedded to their facility.

No one had the walbro in stock locally so I bought it online from vivid racing in chandler az. I had it overnighted.
