why?! this is a 10 minute job!! I don't understand how people can have problems with this. I can't believe you would even think of paying for this to be done.

I saw where it is located and it seems very deep in the engine bay.

The reason i rather have a shop do this is because i am not an experienced tech. I don't think i can get to the filter without taking things apart, and then i don't know if i can put it back together.

come on now. There's no tech to it. If anything you take off the end of the intake. which would be three clips and loosening the clamp on the intake. Pull that off and have more the enough space to get to the filter. You'll spend $40 for someone to do it or a few extra minutes to actually learn something about your car.

I replaced my PCV too, a couple days ago. 5 min job. This fuel filter is a pain in the *** though, I'm gonna keep trying, I'm not going to string new hose since I'm not up for that right about now.

As for the car starting and dying, it's not doing anything differently than before I took out the Fuel Pump fuse, and I'm sure I removed the right one. Which leads me to believe I see a new fuel pump in my near future. Are there ways to just clean a Fuel pump, I know where it's located but can it be cleaned and fixed?

piece of cake. Pull the #32 fuse in the fuse box under the steering wheel. Start the car. It might start. It might not. When it cranks 3 or 4 times but doesn't start shut it off. Now... remove the gas cap. Unscrew the top fuel filter clamp with a stubby phillips screwdriver. Make sure you loosen it up alot. Its easier with 2 people. One person hold the filter. The other twist the upper hose and pull. It will break free and wiggle off. Now, pop the filter out of the little spring clamp and turn it to its side. You will see the other lower clamp. Loosen that one too. Now, have a helper hold the lower hose while you pull and twist the filter out.

Reverse to install it. It took me an my son 10 minutes and it was our first time doing it.

Did mine two days ago. It took more than 10min maybe 30. I did all job with one hand and short sturdy phillips. Take the filter from the clamp. Unscrew top screw and pull the hose. Put the filter on its side and unscrew the bottom screw. And I have 300zx TT fuel filter, which is at list twice the size of stock one. Just be patient. Good luck.

The concept is quite simple. De pressurize, disconnect the hoses, connect the hoses to the new filter, put it in the clamp, put the fuse back and done.

However, I was changing the fuel filter on my girlfriend's car, and that filter seemed like it was there forever (an Altima). It was a real pain in the *** to disconnect the hose at the bottom, almost like it fused together with the metal tube .
I put it off to next week. Its simple when it works guys, when it doesnt, its tough. Atleast for newbie DIYs.

Apply some wd40 or similar lubricant to where the hose meets the metal tube. It'll come right off.
