hey guys i just put a new trans in my car, and its really hard to put it in gear sometimes, any ideas? i know its vague but i just put it in yesterday and havent really felt it out yet.

its not broken in yet its a new tranny so drive it easy for awhile and start working them gears hopfully you changed the clutch too if not you should

Did you replace the clutch as well? What type of gear oil did you use?

yes i changed the clutch and i used amsoil GL4

is it a new transmission as in BRAND new from factory, or new as in one to replace your old one?

Did you happen to (for any reason) mess with the shifter bolts? I know when I tightened my shifter's throughbolt at the bottom on the control rod shifting took alot of effort.

Anyways, new or used (assuming that its in good condition), give it a few days of working through the gears.

its used but its fully rebuilt, i did have a lot of trouble tightening those screws, correct me if im wrong but theres 2 of them on the bracket.

So, just how hard is really hard? But it's not really hard alll the time? These other guys are probably right, you may just need to break it in. Have you tried double clutching? That'll let you know if it's the synchros. Which I think are kind of a little weak. Or maybe the gears too are burly. Either way...

no didnt bleed the clutch, is it necessary that i do? also sometimes its easy to go into a gear and sometimes i cant quite get it in very smoothly

OT- soseihin, "Car: 1999 Super Black A32 with a VQ30". If you have a 99 its a given that you have a VQ30, lol. You should only need to specify the engine if its a swap, like a DEK or 3.5 motor.

OK back on subject, Worse come to worse, does this rebuilt tranny have a warranty on it?

it seems to have gotten a little smoother but still rough on some up shift and down shifts and reverse and 1st seem to be the hardest
