a couple of weeks ago I posted a question. My question was if the TL Bi-Xenon Projectors could fit inside the R34 Headlight Housing. The answer...NO. But being as stubborn as I am...I took a risk and went with it.

I started with the TL Bi-Xenon projectors because of the bi-xenon capability, tremendous light intensity, and width that users on HIDplanet have noticed. Then I came accross this pic... http://www.haknslash.com/pictures/HI..._0064small.jpg

These pics are TL with a special clear lens that comes off of certain BMW 3 series between 2004-2006. These are very rare and there are probably less than 10 people in the world with the TL projector and ZKW lens combo, there are 5 confirmed with this combo who are on HIDplanet.

Here's a break down of the cost of this project:
R34 headlight housing: $200
TL projector: $220
Denso Balast: $150
Phillips 4300K Bulbs: $70
BMW 5 Series Shroud: $60
ZKW Projector: $240
Misc. Bolts: $20
Wire Harness: $25
TOTAL: $985

as u can see...the bottom of the headlight housing has to be cut to make way for the solenoid. The three bolts are used to aim the projector properly.

as u get further...more deep purple and pink come into the cutoff line.

 

its sooo amazingly sharp!...and the light goes on forever. I shined the beam onto some houses at the end of my street which are about 150-200ft away and the cutoff was still sharp! the light supposedly goes on for 1/8th of a mile...talk about distance.

Wow man that looks really great, i wouldn't even drive with those things cause i'd be too scared that somethign would happen to them, 1k is sooo much money! You should post some daytime pics like people have said.

You have to seal the bottom of the housings up. Once you get them all aimed perfect, take them back out and seal up the bottoms. I would take some type of plastic and just use fibarglass filler and putty it all up. sand it down and paint.

sorry guys...no new pics. I forgot to bring my camera today while i was aiming.

finally got the aiming pretty good...AND it is SICK!

the light goes on forever! I wish i had a better camera because i know for sure that my camera wont capture how these babies really look.

Vise Grips under the body of the strut works like a champ and you don't have to worry about it being knocked loose and getting a skull full of hood!

havent thought of that one but i havent had a problem so far. im looking on some new ones anyway.

 

almost all of the newer cars over $20k have HID projectors either standard or as an option. they are far superior to regular halogen reflectors.

HID projectors...
put out 3x the lumens of regular halogen bulbs
have color temp that mimics day light
produce a sharp cutoff reducing glare to on coming traffic
produce a wide, even beam...no hot spots.
perform much better with distance.


once u go HID u will never go back. ask anyone who has done a retrofit if they would ever go back to stock and i gaurantee u that all of them would say NEVER!
