Need a new car. PLEASE LOOK!

Hey whatsup guys.
I owned a maxima, i loved it. But i had to let it go a year ago to my brother who lives in a different state.
Now i'm buying a another used car.
I'm looking at a wrx. Planning to spend around 15k.
When i owned my maxima i did not modify it.
Would you buy a another maxima and modify it instead of buying a wrx?
I can probably find a used maxima 99 for around 6k? and spend 9k to modify it? Wouldnt that smoke any STI? or wrX? or anything?
Thank you so much

I don't see the point in putting 9K worth of mods into a Max for what I assume is daily driving purposes, but that's simply my opinion. If you truly love the 4th Gen max then sure go after a 99 and put some money into it (I wouldn't spend over 3 or 4K on basic mods). But if you're after speed off the bat or speed in general (or "smoking a WRX") then I would look elsewhere, there are tons of other cars that when modded/unmodded are a lot faster than our sedans and 15K is a huge chunk of change. In the end it's your decision and your 15K to spend.

Hell no would I spend $9,000 in a Maxima, if you want a fast reliable car than get one that's like that stock.

$9k in mods on a Maxima could possibly let you smoke an STI.

...From a roll.

...In a VERY straight line.

...On really dry pavement.

...On a really smooth road.

...In perfect weather.

...A few times before something breaks.

Yeah I'd say that if your looking for something very powerful look at a 5.5 gen 6spd. That way it already has a VQ35DE and you can easily turbo or super charge it. Doing F/I on a 5th will get you crazy power. For 15k I'd look at a 5.5 over a 4th.

However if it were my money I'd be looking for RWD or AWD rather than a FWD car. So the WRX is a little tempting for 15k, although with the 5.5 gen you have a sleeper that most people dont acknowledge as being powerful.

If you don't care about looks and want a pretty fast car, get a $1000 hatchback and put a K24 in it and still have money left over for buttseckz.

get a 93 civic hatch for $500,put a t3 turbo in it,with a stand alone fuel management, and enough NOS to blow yourself up period!

haha no I'd get the Scooby,220hp from factory,AWD which is key, cheap money to throw on exhaust, boost controller,gt35 turbo, etc hahah its the way to go

WRX....I love my max, but damn I need a higher performance chassis! I'd go with WRX, it's pretty responsive to mods (so I hear!)

ya know.. i love maxima's but ive always been a subaru guy. my first car was a subaru and to tell you the truth i probably wont ever get another maxima again because im too in love with subaru so go with a wrx because thats the first thing i would do if i had 15k to spend on a car.

*do the right thing champ.

personally I'd buy an S4 for that kind of money but that's just me. I wouldnt recommend throwing 9k worth of mods into the max tho. Get something stock thats higher end. You'll have a better platform to mod as well.

why are most people dead on about beating a WRX, STI, EVO and other higher end faster cars. Do you guys like see these cars on the road all the time and the people who drive them want to race you all day long ? What goal does a owner of a STI have to beat a maxima any gen for that matter?

GET THE WRX

S4's are great fun don't get me wrong,I had a stage3 2001.5 S4 that ripped and looked absolutely amazing, buuuut with an Audi comes VERY expensive maintenance (timing belt alone is a couple grand) plus all aftermarket parts are wicked expensive (catback exhaust-min $1000,downpipes- min $1500,chip-min $600,coilovers-min $1300,etc) absolutely love Audi's,but you need a bigger bank account if you wanna modify one.
