Fog light questions

So I've been buying fog light bulbs, and have been duped several times. I've emailed the stores and ask them but whenever I installed the lights it all turns out to be yellow lighted... so I'm just wondering where can I get fog light bulbs that will end up being blueish/white instead of yellow? what website and what whattage should I get?

p.s. we need a lighting section

get sylvania silverstars, hellas, or piaas. if you want a good look, don't be cheap. if you really want them to be nuts, get some 5000-8000K HIDs and put in there. well worth it in the end.

i think they turn out to be yellowish white because of that fuzzy fog light lens. from my thoughts anyways.

Yeah I bought the Silverstars I had on my Malibu at Pep Boys, though you can get them MUCH cheaper on eBay.

If you're just dealing with regular H3 bulbs, make sure the bulb has a light blue tint and it will produce white light. luminics, silverstars, piaa, etc.

ps. get stock wattage bulbs unless you plan on upgrading the wiring as well.

I think it's the color of your bulbs b/c I bought the piaas from ce awhile back and they are as white as can be, no tint in any direction.

well I've bought H3 bulbs that were tinted blue but still came out to be yellow, but when I bought the car the color of light was white, but when those burned out I tried to find a replacement, but it all came out to be yellow, so thats whats frustrating me now. I can't seem to find a site that sells higher wattage H3s

Do you have hid's? Cause they will make anything else yellowish and the blue tinted stuff greenish.

I don't believe my fogs are HIDs, but the light still turns yellow even if it has a blue tint, so maybe its jus because 4000k H3s aren't strong enough, so I'm trying to find higher wattage H3s, but can't find any

I noticed my passenger side fog light was out the other day and just bought an H3 bulb from Checkers for $10, 55w should be the stock wattage, they also sell a 100w for the same price though, I havent installed it yet, probably do that later today, but I'll let you know what color it turns out to be.

No I think he meant are your headlights HID's.. as they'd make you fogs look yellower or greener than normal.

If you just have halogen headlight bulbs get the same brand for fogs, i think that'll be the only way to satisfy you

yea the clip is kinda annoying to do the first time. might want to jack it up in the front to give you a little more room.

So do you have a bunch of H3 bulbs that you are not using? Are they YELLOW light output, or do they just have a slight yellowish-tint, as conpared to a "white" bulb?

What's wrong with yellow?

Anyway, it sounds like the look you want is the blueish "hyperwhite" color, as opposed to "regular" white light. Any of those halogen blue tinted bulbs will do the trick.

If your going HID's with your headlights then it is best to go HID's with fogs or else anything blue tinted halogen will still look very yellowish or worse greenish depending on what K you go with. The only halogen with hidish white are those crazy 100/110 watt nokya bulbs and I'm sure you don't want to go that route.

good deal, so had you not put any of the ones you ordered in before? or were you just guessing what color it would appear based on the bulbs look?

I have a bunch of unopened ones, because when I ordered them I didn't know what brand they were since it is ebay, but when it came in it was exactly the same brand and type as I previously ordered. So ya, none of them came out what I wanted, just a bunch of stock white lights tinted blue...
