need MAF info for senior project! please help!

I basically need 2 things:

1.) the diameter of a 4th gen MAF (if it comes down to it, I'm going to grab a pair of calipers and measure mine)

2.) the data chart used by the ECM to figure out the grams per second of air entering the plenum: basically I need a calibrated chart of voltage (0 to 5v) vs. grams/second of air. Anyone have one of these for tuning purposes?

I looked and looked through my FSM, and I can't find the actual data used by the ECM. All I can find is how to diagnose a MAF, which is useless to me.
...and if you were curious, I'm building a flow bench to test engine components.

No one? I thought maybe some of the hard-core know-it-all's would at least have a calibration chart for me.

Have you tried posting in the All Motor section? Might have more luck there.

The inside diameter of the one I have lying around is about 7.3 cm or just under 3 inches.

gm/s depends on atmospheric conditions.

The ID is 72mm.

Check eng92's airflow data thread. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=473182

. Very interesting.

alright, thanks guys. That link kinda helped a little. Right now we are using a GM MAF which outputs a voltage frequency and is very unruly when coupled with our data acquisition system. We are thinking about switching to an analog 0-5v Nissan MAF with a rough diameter of 3". The data aq likes the analog system, which we found out by quickly hooking up a Ford Temo (lol) MAF up to it. Problem is, tempo MAF is small and only allows air to flow in one direction. The flow bench needs to compare pressure drop (via a digital transducer) to air flow rate (via the MAF) to test efficiency of heads, intake systems, exhausts, etc. So if you've actually read all this mumbo jumbo, thanks again...and if you stumble on anymore calibration charts for a Nissan MAF, post 'em up for me.

I don't have a calibration chart, but I do have some gm/s with respect to raw voltage. BUT, keep in mind, this is an A33B (03) MAF sensor & readings. I'm guessing they're calibrated the same.

Here's a much less technical thread about it

holy crap. Looks like I'm going to be busy with excel for a while....
Thanks a ton.
Our first step was to start getting data, then to purchase the MAF that matches it. I'm going to take a trip to the local dealer and see if they might have one as well...and blow their minds in the process.
