Should the ECU look like this?

I have just gotten my car back from the dealership a few days ago because is had a emissions related code. They said they replaced the ECU and the wiring harness. Now I just looked at the ECU a few mins ago and noticed that there is no idle adjustment screw. All I see is the little gear teeth where it looks like the screw would connect with to turn the adjuster. My question is, do all the factory ECU replacements come with this screw missing or is mine the unlucky one that did? Thanks.

there is no idle adjuster screw on the ECU. are you referring to the screw you turn to pull codes? If so, I would go back. If it is too much hassle, you can always ignore it and go straight to Autozone.

Well, the sticker on the driver side of the ECU says to adjust idle turn whichever way, but in the pics of pulling codes I think it is the same screw.

Just found the sticky above for it:http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html

In the picture from here on the ECU it says self diagnose, but mine is missing that screw and the sticker only says idle adjustment.

I tried for 45 minutes to fiddle with the screw when my CEL came on. I think its a philips head screw for 99s whereas the 95-98 have flat heads. I gave up tho and just brought it to autozone.

yes. for 95-98 it is a mini flathead. for 99's it is a phillips. If the screw is missing and you never plan on pulling the codes yourself, forget about it. I personally would go back and make them do it right.
