exhaust question

ive been wondering this for a while now and i wanted to know if there was anyone out there that will know or has done this ifit was worth it or just pointless. would it be benificial to have a true dual exhaust right off of each header instead of having a y pipe?

I don't think there is enough room under the car. You'll need two cat converters and there really isn't room to run two separate pipes. True duals are good put I don't think it would be beneficial for the price you'll pay.

Like Cdg said, it would be better and beneficial to performance but it would take either lots of time, or lots of money and not really be worth it. But I do think its possible, something tells me I saw a 4th gen with dual exhaust once, and only once.

a couple have dual but its not true dual. It was the CE dual catback. Not true dual. I don't think it would be that beneficial.

There is just no room to put a real dual on ...

by the looks of your age and number of posts i assume youre going mainly for the look of having dual exhausts. itll basically be only the muffler but its not that hard. just gotta find it for sale

You should use an x pipe or an h pipe on dual exhaust, or some sort of crossover like that. X pipe is generally better from what I have seen.

And going true dual over just a larger (2.5") single exhaust isnt really going to yield you much extra if any power unless you are boosted or spraying. Yes it will be unique and one of only a few people to have true dual exhaust on a maxima. I'm supercharged and wouldnt even bother with it, 3" exhaust works good for me.
