8mm thread size. Look in the help section at a parts store, should be able to find them there. I got mine at Advance, 4 pack for like $5.

It's pretty ingenious actually. Mounting bolts are 6mm so they go right through the mounting holes, which are threaded for an 8mm bolt. The 6mm threads into the block and doesn't even touch the WP threads, and the 8mm bolts thread into the WP mounting holes but can't go into the 6mm holes in the block so it just pushes against them, forcing the WP out. Take a look at the new one, it'll make sense then, I wondered the same thing.

Just...try to not drop anything into the timing cover. I lost a tensioner bolt, had to take off the timing cover to get it, then had to go back in to reset my timing. I'll say this much - DO NOT be like me...'look how loose the chain is, let's tug on it'. Long story short, left cam set was roughly 90 degrees off. Only gnod thing is now I can r&r the front cover including cleaning and reapplying RTV in about 30 minutes.

i just got back with the new WP, while i was in the store i was thinking of just buying new O-rings and put them over my old WP but after the trouble i went through and its not even out yet.... i am just gonna put the new one in and never have to go through that again... my biggest fear is the timing chain tensioner.... i dont wanna take it off... i guess i am just gonna see how it goes down tomorrow...

pmohr... how long did it take you?

it's pretty easy, i used a sheet of cardboard to make sure nothing fell inside my timming cover. watch out when taking the tensioner off it kinda shoots out like my did. and have a paper clip ready for when you push the tensioner piston back in. it's about a 4hour job, it took me longer because it took me longer to put water pump cover on.....when you start your engine after getting done with the water pump, your going to hear a timimg chain sound, but goes away after driving around the block

as soon as you start it, hold the throttle at 2000 rpms, the "death rattle" should go away after about 30 seconds.

ethnic, i did not take my engine out..... just worked with the tiny space that i had... it has been leaking for a few weeks now and i was putting it off but it started leaking to the point where it would just pour out when i turn the car off..... its better to spend the 60 buck and sacrifice half a day instead of overheating your engine and spending over a grand because of negligence.... speaking from experience here.

Took me 3 school days, one of those was spent setting the timing, the other 2 removing/reinstalling the timing cover twice and of course the WP replacement, prep and cleanup. 3 school days from drive in to driveout, with two major incidents. Not all too bad for a first timer, I think.

do it sooner rather than later, I stripped down a motor that was neglected and blew up because it was never done, kept getting overheated and filled with straight water, but anyways, if he had done it he would have had to remove both the outer and inner cover because the water pump was so seized to the inner cover that while threading the M8 bolt's each corner tab of the waterpump simply broke off. Haven't heard of that happening to anyone while trying to replace it in the car but it would be a royal pita if it did

Lol, not too bad but could have been so much better. Took me about 45 minutes in all. Mainly thanks to the write-up that was here on the org.
