How To Race An Auto ! Look !
haha welllllllll most of us 5spd'ers wont admit that... shiet...
well driving normally, the 5spd is a hassle... and i drive normally most of the time... and it is annoying sometimes... my 3 most hated 5spd situations are as follows
1. Waiting in traffic to do a right turn on a hill... (stop and go uphill)
2. Stop and go alll the damn way home on the damn freeway...
3. SAN FRANCISCO
but then again... i cant see myself going back to auto...

I love reading Craig's posts cause it makes me not regret as much getting an auto. I'm 17 and my parents didnt want me driving a stick cause they wanted me paying more attention to the road. My next car will definitely be a 5spd though (hopefully a porsche or ferrari)
oh yea.. the reason why the max's auto is so beat upon is cuz it is HORRIBLE
well the diff between an auto and a stick.. 6.6 to 8.0... thats a huge difference...
usually they try to make the dif around .5 seconds... so 6.6-7.1 its not a good tranny from that point of view...
Cavalier LS 2.4L = econobox with 150hp it does 0-60 in8.2-8.4 with the auto... the Cavalier Z24 with the same engine and a Getrag 5spd does 0-60 in 7.9 or a lil faster.. that shows a good auto haha... and its pretty smooth too

As for San Fran, I have been there. Try using the E-Brake when starting on the steep inclines. All you do is when you stop on a hill, pull the brake to keep the car from rolling back, apply the gas, release the cluch and e-brake at the same time. No more rolling back.

Thanks bro. Being an Auto, and hearing manuals talk down on us, I'm not the kinda guy to let that go untouched. Here is some VERY good reasons for owning an AUTOMATIC:1) If your into Audio like me, Then you NEED that other hand for your remote controller or console to mess around with the equilizer, songs, bass, ect.
2) We ALL have to get up early in the mourning. Wether it be school or work. Personally I am dead tired on school days and dont wanna **** around with shifting I just want a relaxing drive !
3) You CAN pay more attention to the road when drivin an Auto!
4) Say you get lucky and get a hott chick in your car. Now, you have been dating her for a while. It's time to rest your hand on her thigh when driving. Only in an Auto baby.
5) Cell phone ! (these days they have speakers so you dont have to hold em but still!)
I think I covered most of the Advantages of an Automatic ! Yea Maxima's Auto's arent the best. Thank God We still have the best V-6 ever made! ..and did anyone hear of a VALVE BODY UPGRADE!! Just get a level 10 tranny or Don's VB Upgrade and your Auto will inch ever so closer to the Manual.
I try not to get myself down on Auto's. So whenever I do I just think of ALL of the advantages we have over sticks. (minus a lil speed when all stock)
HOPE THIS MAKES ALL YOU AUTOS FEEL BETTER ! REMEMBER, WERE ALL MAXIMA ENTHUSIASTS, AND WE all have the same engine !
Peace OuT

All in all, if you drive and auto you shouldn't be down about it. I bought my auto for comfort and the extra mile per gallon which probably adds up to 16 extra miles to a tank. I do long haul trips when I travel so that's what mattered to me. The car is the ***** and has big ones for what it is.
Craig: All of what you are saying has been said time and time again and yes, even the part about having fun while driving(you know what I mean).

heeeeeelll yea.
haha thanks deezo...
yea well its not so much of a problem... just annoyoing... San Fran is a culmination of the two preceding problems... haha never ending e-brake, clutch slipping... haha day after day... and then the freeways are always clogged...
Yea i have herad of 7.8 times for Auto Maxs and stuff like that... but well in my opinion its stila lil bit too much diff between the 5spd and the auto...
its a tossup... and well I'm sure i wont do 0-60 in much less than 7... so yea the diff between auto and manual all depends on the driver...
well off to fight my way through mid day traffic on I-5!! and then the damned 78... and then the damned.... haha thats life with a 5spd
