3rd Gear. . . .

Hey Everyone,
I never put my ride to the test, but lately i have lost to Integra not sure if gsr and Celicat gt. Against both cars I take the lead in first and second , but on third gear they seemed to walk pass me.

I am completely stock, and the cars I am up against are not bacuse I can hear their exhaust.

It really bothers me that I lost to a Celica!!! THe RPM on third was slow. Is it just my car or all MAxImAs

....... a y pipe isnt going to help.... was the celica a gt or gts. gts's are 6 cyl. and vtech integras have some power. dont feel bad.

gts isnt a 6 cyl.

Maxima USIM are weak at high rpms and even worse in an automatic.

<--- I've beating GTS's (those are the celicas with those huge wings right?)
if your stock...I guess its no surprise... I was auto when I raced that car...(y-pipe, UDP, VB, Intake, Full Exhaust)... it was probably by like a car length.

Drive better? I shift just before the red line. PLus on the first Run THe Celica Over REV! and as soon as he shift he caught up and pass me.
I didn't over rev or under rev for tha factor.

That is wrong.

Out of the two cars the GS-R is faster but you should still be getting it.

GSR- 2600-2700
95/96 Max - 2900-3100

Not a huge difference considering the torque curve of the two engines.

A lot of bad going on in here.

Wrong forum for starters.

Celica, 6cyl, unless it has a swapped engine.
........

B18C1 FTW.

Yea thats is bad my friend. I would say the quickest, most inexpensive way to solve this problem would be throttle body spacer and cold air....just a thought or you can always go programmer!!

The Celica you raced was a 1.8l 4 cylinder, as for the GSR you should of walked all over it.

Sounds like bullard just means some kind of EU. x91, pretty much everything you said was wrong. A y-pipe is easily the best mod on a VQ30 for the money, exhaust related anyway. And USIM is United States Intake Manifold. Try actually researching what you're talking about before you talk.

That's what happens when maxima owner's with different gens come into another forum and spout off without reading around first.

next time hit up the General Maxima Discussion Section, sub forum : Weekend Battles.

as for as your question its a bit broad and difficult to answer. i still get beat by integra type r's not as much now as 6 months ago, and modded civics at the drag strip.

sorry to hear the celica ate your lunch ! if you want a bit more out of the maxima, get her serviced (plugs, fuel filter, etc) add a few mods, ypipe, ecu upgrade, light weight wheels and call it a day.
