Hey guys I have a MAP sensor code, that wont go away even after being cleared. So I'm going to make sure its connected right, and then replace it if it just gave up on life. I looked in the FSM but that offered little help to its location. Thanks guys, pics help too! After I fix this the car is going up for sale

 

MAP sensor? I thouht our cars had a MAF sensor instead..?

 

Was it the BARO/Boost/Map sensor code? What code was it(XXXX)?

 

The MAP sensor is where you want it to be..

 

It it's the MAF sensor then it is the box located on the air intake. It has a filament that measures the temperature and helps determine air to fuel mixture... mmmmm ... yeah that sounds right.

 

check towards the front next to coolant pipes follow the vacum lines one says boost sensor thats the one a MAP sensor has nothing to do with temp it measures vacum changes in the manifold to measure how much air fuel it should be putting out butnissan puts them there like a fail safe in case the MAF sensor ever fails but its pretty much invisible otherwise to the PCM so just make sure your connections are are tight on it and the vac line is not damaged or cracked

 

Wrong, thats what the IAT sensor is for.. The MAF is just what the acronym stands for, Mass Air Flow sensor. It measures air input via volts (0-5v) and blah blah this is over your head I imagine.

WE DO NOT HAVE MAP SENSORS, YOU ONLY WISH YOU DID..

 

Thanks guys, it was the sensor that said boost on it. Must have forgotten to plug it back in after changing the alternator. Reset ECU again and code and CEL is gone!

If they do not have map sensors, why does mine show the code and why can you buy one for it?....for $250 ...ouch.
