front end steering issue

I just replaced my control arms, tie end rods, and sway bar linkages. The problem now is that when i am making aggressive turns the steering alignment shifts in that direction after the turn. I cranked down the tie end rods as much as they go but the same problem occurs. I tried to crank down the ball joint nut down more, but it seems like they wont turn more. Weird thing is that it doesnt look like i threaded those nuts enough from what the stock ball joint nut was...am i missing a step here or possible ideas whats causing this alignment shifting?

Have you gotten an alignment since replacing the parts?

I am not sure I understand what you are saying? Do you mean if you are turning to the right the car continues to go to the right after you straighten the steering wheel and if you turn to the left the car continues to go to the left after you straighten the steering wheel? If this is the case it is most likely strut mount bearings. You may also hear some popping noise if you are parked and turn your wheels from far right to far left which is the coil spring fighting a bad strut mount bearing.

i slightly get this with my ksports. I think it is the strut mount bearings as nlmaxima said. I know mine need to be greased, but because the piston of the shock turns with your steering wheel i believe maybe they are not returning smoothly or something...i tried greasing them.

This does sound like the problems i have been experincing, the thing is that I didnt notice this until after i did my front end replacements...which leads me to belive its something I did in the process. If this helps while driving if i quickly jerk the steering wheel in any direction, the steering wheel will off center to the direction i jerked....does this help with diagnosis?

I have the same problem.....I think it is the strut mount bearings. It started after getting an alignment. That is my diagnosis though....

or your camber boltsif there still original they can actually slip when exact factory geometry isnt there anymore in your case since most everything is altered you need to have a set off camber bolts to keep this problem from happening there called eccentric camber bolts, summitracing sells them for cheap buuy them and take your baby to get an alignment and you should be fine

I dont think those bolts will work because my ksports have built in camber plates, so I cant use these bolts right???

well yea cause then youd have two points that your camber/caster could be adjusted to get it perfect both would be adjusted

the bolts mount where your coilover mounts to the hub/spindle there 2 bolts right there when you used to have strut suspension thats how the camber adjusted by tilting th ehub assembly up and tightening it you get positive camber tilting down gets you negative camber but do not do this unless you have a machine or a way to measure your alignment just take it in to your mechanic have them do it all and be done with it

Does Ksport/D2 have strut mount bearings? I knew the stock ones had them but I don't recall installing any strut mount bearings on my D2 coilovers. After driving for a year with my D2's, I am experiencing this problem as well.

I don't know if you guys have solved this problem yet, but I had the same issue a while back and found out that the steering rack bushing on one side was bad. Basically, the entire steering rack was sliding around when I made a turn and staying in that position until I turned the other direction. The bushings are pretty cheap and can be replaced relatively easily (lift recommended for leverage). I hope this fixes your problems.
