Car would not start

The car acted as if the battery were dead, click click click when turning the ignition. After several tries it almost wanted to kick over but not quite. The battery has 12.62v. I got it turned over after 15min of this but it still acted as if the battery were dying. Once running I checked the the battery and the alternator and I'm getting 13v from the alt. The charging system is fine but if I shut off the car then try to turn it over it gives the symptom of a dying battery, almost turning over slowly then it'll eventually turn over and start. The starter is new and so is the battery. HELP

Test the starter, ignition switch, and check the associated wiring.

its usually the gorund wire just do the ground wire mod by grounding one of the starter bolts to the frame and you should be fine happens ALL the time its not a ignition switch either cause if it was bad the car wouldnt even try to crank or click

It's the alternator. 13V is too low for a battery on-charge. Should be more like 14 and up. Max is very sensitive to state of charge. Have the alternator tested.

.............alternator has nothing, absolutley nothing to do with starting if his battery has 12 volts will the care start bare minimum a modern fuel injcted car needs at least 9 volts to start and more than 5 volts to keep the computer running the common problems with maximas are the grounding points if the motor had suffecient grounding cables alot of nissans would never have to replace there starter or have hesitation when starting like i said earlier ground your starter and/or trans/bellhousing to the subframe or body
