Thanks for the compliments though guys, I need to do two things before I put up my final exhaust clip though..

Budget Y made equal length and I have to replace the cat-gasket this week, I forgot to do that when I installed.

300zx wheel guy: I'll do the requested WOT drive when I have the pre-mentioned mods complete.

Deeper perhaps, yet I enjoy the sound I have more in the end.. But to each his own.

That sounds intriguing (no pun intended ). Is that Cattman muffler a straight-through design?

Indeed it is.. The neat thing about the Cattman rear section is that it brings out the true sound of the VQ. I get my car next to friends with Z/G's and honestly it plays its part sounding like a smaller displacement VQ. With headers I can only imagine it gets even closer to sounding the way I'd like it.

Many other exhausts just cant get the tone because of their design. I've heard Apexi/ Greddy and HKS and none sound like the Cattman.. This is my second muffler and I enjoy it as much or more than the original.

They're all nice, but my exhaust satisifies me the most.

Thanks for the reply, Apparition.
I've got the Budget Y+ resonated B combo and with the Vibrant straight-through muffler previously attached the noise drove my wife and I nuts when it got above 2500rpm. With the stock muffler on it has a nice burble at idle but really quiet while driving. The only thing is that the stock muffler lacks the 'bling' look.

Well, I'll admit this.. If I had to drive my car long distances or for long period of time (say 4 hours +/-) this exhaust would probably start to get to me sound wise. Same thing with the G/Z's though, any of the aftermarket exhausts for them make the car decently louder resonated but its tolerable because it sounds nice.

However, my friend recently got rid of his '06 G35s and the Stillen resonated exhaust + headers saw him over 20whp on the dyno IIRC, but the damn thing was loud IMO. So I'd say to do exhaust on a 3.5 you REALLY have to choose wisely for performance vs. sound. As where on the VQ30 you can get away with say a louder muffler like the cattman and its no problem.. and like I said it sounds quite nice

I just had my Cattman headers and catback installed today. It does stick out a couple of inches but my Stillen rears make them look fairly flush overall.

BOSS sound btw; loud between 2,000-2,500rpm though.

So I was uber bored yesterday and wound up taking some of my intake system off and ghetto-rigging a nice hot-air intake. I can't tell if I like it or not.

Or you could give me the money for the round trip plane ticket and I'd ship the wheels to you myself...

Hey, I'm being strong and keeping the drivetrain stock so far but I felt like going through some tunnels and making some noise. The ricer wail sounds pretty good at 5000rpm.

Glad you approve. I'm off to drive through some more tunnels before I put the snorkel back in.

I took some shots of the Cattman muffler for reference...Cattman headers and catback..

Having the Stillen rears (probably any rears for that matter) makes the overhang less noticeable..

Dude, that's exactly how much mine sticks out, so it's true for all 97-99's (I'm assuming) and the reason Ceasar doesn't really have it must be the fact that he has a sarona rear. But what about DandyMax and those guys, why haven't we heard of that from them?.. lol maybe they like a protruding exhaust.
