Budget Y/B Pipe + Cattman catback..

Dont do it guys.. For some odd reason and yes I checked to see if was a hangar issue (its not) my exhaust now sticks out a good (1.5-2.0" to be exact) past my bumper and keep in mind I have a '98 so the A32a shorter bumper deal is out of the question.

Anyhow, I see myself having to remove a 2" section of stainless from my exhaust somewhere and at the same time so it doesn't affect catback fitment under the actual car.

A little annoying to say the least, but the sound is still amazing. In any case, just do the full cattman catback as most say to do.

pics later.

okay now give me that 2" of stainless and let me put it on my b-pipe so it doesnt slap the gas tank. my HKS muffler fits horrible with the budget b-pipe and sticks like 2 inches in from the bumper.

do you have a y-pipe hanger?

The stock muffler with the Budget Y+B combo matches the stock exhaust length.

Yeah, it's definitely the rear section.

that's why I do it right the first time.....full cattman set-up, baby!

that's sucks though man, it's going to be frustrating trying to find two inches somewhere along the piping that would NOT effect alignment/fitment. good luck

Well I had full Cattman before lol.. But wanted something different and IMO this sounds better, that Budget B Pipe is awesome but I should have bought a Cattman Y pipe because I already knew the quality.

As far as finding the 2 inches, the only feasible area to cut is the rear section itself. otherwise, like you said there's no way it would work with fitment in any other fashion.

Yeah, I'll post up a soundclip and some video of the exhaust itself.. The exhaust is still farely quiet but I forgot how crazy it drops the sound of the intake, it's a good half an octave at least. (I think it's the blending of the intake and exhaust note that makes it seem lower though)

If you do a maxima exhaust right it can actually be decently loud and still sound amazing, I'd say mine isn'y quite as loud as Ceasars but he obviously has headers haha.

Anyways, video soon..

Well yeah, if you replace everything from the headers to the muffler with Cattman products it's guaranteed to sound awesome. Just... I couldn't justify that money-wise in a billion years, and let's be honest, none of us could use the extra fuzz. I get so little attention from cops, even with the HID retrofit, it's unreal. Not a single ticket since I got it over two years and 40k miles ago, and I put this car through the paces daily.

werd cattman is a ****en rip off as far as price.... i mean **** headers cost $800... wtf is that?

for an ls1 you can get jet hot coated mid-length headers for like $600....
oh well i guess... thats the advantage of having a Japanese car i guess stuff is 3x more expensive.....

Then buy a car that actually has aftermarket support if you want to complain about prices.

+1. There's a reason parts for Maximas are in meager supply and expensive. You can't pull that R&D money out of your ass...

.. man does the entire .org know im such a lazy basterd? That sucks..

Anyhow, I'll finally get some tomorrow night (well its 2:35 so *today) and post it up. The only thing I regret is not having my equal length y-pipe made yet, in turn the exhaust still backflows and sounds like a flamethrower at times lol.

Effective tail-gating control = Cattman/ Budget exhaust.

I'd say that it's a good portion of us, seeing as you proudly display it in 1/2 the threads you post in.

Blah blah blah, hurry up with the sound clips, etc etc.

haha im waiting as well.. btw the sp2 with a budget y fit perfectly..

oh and btw.. in the title i guess u meant budget y+b pipes.. and a cattman muffler? because a catback includes the b pipe. having 2 b pipes could be the issue...

Perhaps these would sit better with Stillen rear lips..

Could there be a chance that there is a difference in length between the Cattman b-pipe and the Budget? Probably better for Brian himself to answer this.

I think you're right.. But, the cattman fit perfectly with the stock B so the entire situtation aludes my thoughts entirely.

In any case, yeah I can just cut a small piece (blasphemy) out of the rear section to make it sit flush.

and thanks for compliment jxkim.

Sounds goooood. 300zx wheel guy approves.

Would have liked a WOT run of the exhaust though, and not just the intake (away from camera).

(Kind of OT) Seems in exhausts people always go for a deeper sound, I don't know why, I like a higher pitched, smooth sound. If you're redlining it and the exhaust sounds like it's only at 3k, something's wrong IMO. Screaming zorst FTW...
