I have fairly new brakes and rotors that were replaced on the car about 2 years back. Tonight when I got in my car to get home and when I started the engine the Emergency Brake Light is still on.... Also the battery light is on and I also have a fairly new battery. Could this just be a coincidence? Also there is no sound coming from the brakes as if the E-brake is stuck?

 

Alternator is dead.

Anybody have an idea of how much this may cost roughly, if taken to a shop?? This couldn't have happened at a worse time.

 

alternator?..i have the same problem but i jsut needed more brake fluid...but in your case i may be wrong.

 

Alternator is about 150 rebuilt w/ lifetime warranty and it will cost around 50-75 to get it installed.
