Ok guys I apologize if this is a ridiculously stupid question but here goes...

We ordered a 6 pack of Nissan Oil Filters from everythingnissan.com and they come with copper washers.... my question for you guys is what on earth to the washers go for, I have never needed to screw on a washer anywhere in addition to the oil filter.

 

maybe as a new gasket for your drain plug.

 

if each filter came with the washer, you can feel luxurious and simply replace the drain plug washer each time with a new one for that EXTRA security....but you only really need to replace it when the washer starts to go bad.
