How many spring isolatoers do I need with stock springs?

I am about to replace the front struts on my wifes 98 GLE, I am going to leave the stock springs. I can't figure out how many spring isolators I need though (The grey tube in this pic)

It looks like two in the pic (for one side), but they are not stock springs. This thread has lots of great info but doesn't say how many you need, one poster has one at the top and one at the buttom but he wasent sure if that was right. Also I thought they only went on the bottom

One at the top and one at the bottom. Not suppose to be 2 at the bottom. I also used spiral wrap(electronic store) on my springs front and rear.

Skip trying to get the stock isolators and just get the plastic spiral wrap. I wrapped both top and bottom of the fronts and rears, but if the coils of the spring can't possibly touch each other than you can skip it.

When my original spring insulators wore thru they squeaked like hell until I put on the plastic coil wrap.
