I am wondering where is a good spot to tap into to run some custom interior LED arrays. I would like them to come on when the headlights are on, so I am thinking around the climate control or dash. Any other ideas? I know some of you have done this so where did you get your power from?

Yup... I spliced the ash tray. Running a few various led's and a dual cig lighter for radar and cell charger. No problems yet.

 

i was gonna say dimmer switch, but the ashtray is definitely more accessible.

 

so you tapped into the wires for the ash tray light for your led gauges? i guess this has constant 12v when key is on? there was one person who tapped into the dimmer switch ...but one of the wires there has constant 12v so the dimmer switch wont affect power output going to the leds from there no dimming. dont remember what color wire it is though.
