new keys??

new keys??

i was wondering if there is any way to get new keys for a 99, with a different cut to them, because we lost a set of our keys and just to be safe we want to have the locks rekeyed, can they do this with a 99 because of the transponder thing? thanks

Don't bother with the re-key, your new key will have to be reprogrammed anyway, thus rendering the original key useless for starting the car.

To re-key all the locks would be costly, unless you are concerned with someone using the original key to merely gain entry to the car, which is all that they could do anyhow.

I had a key made for my car for just a few bucks.. but its a '95 and I dont think it has a transponder. Its an Ilco brand key.
