usually shops are busy, the ones that make money. so its hard to take everyone in at the same time.

$258 is top dollar for a stock replacement. For $330 you could get a full Aluminum Griffen Radiator

258 is with installation and really really fast service. I would rate that fair if not a really nice deal. $100 for install and gal of coolant, 150 for rad. and 8 for tax =P thats my break down or what he paid and that is fair prices because he needed it asap. Plus its not like he had another choice of shop, so they could of raped him, cause the way he states it, it was more of less do it then how much type deal.

radiator barn aluminum 2 row radiator. $126.50. 1 hour of my time. free. radiator change is quick and easy man. its literally 2 bolts, and 3 clamps. 1 electric plug. $11 for coolant. coulda saved yourself 130 bucks.

*i will have to say that the radiator from the barn did not look like highest quality radiator in the world. but it shold last the rest of the life of the car with regular flushes.

I'm cheap. How hard is it to do it myself? I can get a new rad/w plastic tank and aluminum core for $122 out the door. Most shops around me will have my car sittin for bout a week.

well. yea i know personally i could of done it in a LOT cheaper. but look at yourself here, if you found this out while on your way to work and lets just say the OP didn't have the time/ knowledge or want to get dirty. Its a great deal. what he got regaurdless. your like off topic, bout his needs and your needs. One can say oh man i could of swap in a DE-K for 300$ instead of paying the shop 1000$ to do it. But the DE-K might take you 2-10 days pending on how lazy one is were has it SHOULD be done 2-3 days at a shop and no headaches and etc.

Put urself in HIS shoes, it wasn't like he said i got a quote for 250$ should i get it. It was I got it done cause my **** was leaking and i had to go to work ASAP.

i know it is, and i know this rad shop and the owner and he's done 2 other cars equally as fast and cheap. and, once again i'm not burning my *** and getting all pissed trying to f*** with this and maybe f****** it up and breaking something off. not all of us are handy with their car and fixing it. i would have loved to save some $$$$$ and installed myself, but on a 91% day and no tools ( stolen out of last car ) i am not gonna bust my *** trying to do this half ***, you know???

Easiest and cheapest way to fix your radiator is to crack an egg and drop it into the radiator. The egg will get pulled to the leak and seal it off. Granted it's only temporary fix, but still works like a charm.

Yup correct, but depends on the size of the hole. Not to make fun of that one but here's some Stupid fixes i've heard of: (ok maybe i used 1 also.....)

In the same aspect, if your automatic tranny slips, throw in some saw dust or a bit of brake fluid: brake fluid will soften the clutches up and make it not slipp again, and the saw dust takes up the gaps in the clutch pack, do only 1 of these. Guaranteed for about 4 miles or 4 minutes whichever comes first, and usually afterwards you're %^&*#$.

^^ Yeah I've heard of those too. I still like the egg trick though, it's so simple that I would've never thought of it on my own.

unless you want scrambled eggs clogging your heater core you should skip the egg and use a product designed for cooling systems.
