HID Projector Retrofit information

How about a thread with some helpful information on 4th gen HID projector retrofitting? Add any and all useful install tips for different projectors such as fitment, difficulty to install, etc...

Here's to start off, I will add more detailed info as I go as well as pictures and more jazzz

Projector retro into the dual beam 1pc headlights:

Recommended tools: dremel with heavy duty cutting discs and cone disc, flathead/phillips head screwdrivers, open ended wrench set, powerdrill with drill bit set, microfiber towels, compressed air can, heatgun (hair dryer will not work), OEM Nissan Rubber Butyl sealant, Safety goggles, dust mask, JB weld

Aiming mechanism: 1.75" to 2" length screws, springs to fit over the screws, washers, and locking nuts

Harness wiring: relay (85-86-87-30), solder, soldering iron, heat shrink tubes, 30A and two 15A fuses, 12AWG wire

Shrouds: Prevents light from leaking out of the sides of the projector and also hides the body of the projector. You can make your own or buy an OEM xenon shroud for the same or other type of projector you are using.

Retrofit process for dual beam 1pc lights:

1) Open the headlights. Grab the heatgun and heat up the glue around the entire light. Don't stay in one spot too long or the housing will melt. Start prying at the innermost corner of the light (if they were mounted on the car, this would be where the lights are closest to the grill). You can use a flathead screw driver to get between the crevice if you need to. Go slow and also keep heating up the glue as you pry. Don't force it or you might crack something.

2) Remove the two large black rubber seals from the back of the headlight.

3) Separate the reflector from the housing. The reflector is secured at three mounting points in total: The aiming screw and at two more mounting points. Loosen the aiming screw all the way (counter-clockwise). For the other two secured points, you can pry the reflector out from behind with a flathead. The reflector will "pop" out of the two other points.

4) Dremel away the low beam section of the reflector. This part gets real dusty so make sure you do this outside. Wear SAFETY GOGGLES and a MASK. You don't want to lose an eye or your lungs. Take a look at the back of the reflector. You will see the three mounting posts (aiming screw post and two other mounting posts). Depending on the size of projector you use, you may have to lose the upper out-most reflector mounting post. If the projector is large, you will dremel away the entire low beam reflector part, but keeping the aiming screw post and the mounting post directly above it. When you are done, clean off the reflector with compressed air and if theres any left over dust, LIGHTLY clean it with a microfiber towel to avoid scratching the reflector surface.

5) Now get the housing. Flip it around and look at the backside of it. You need to dremel away the protruding black plastic circle/ring thing. Why? You need to make room for the new mounting screws and washers. So, do it.

6) Now it's time to mount the projector. Position it inside the housing. Make sure you don't put it in upside down. The shield inside the projector is supposed to be on the BOTTOM when you're looking at it straight on. Eyeball it and position it as flat and level as possible. It doesn't have to be 100%, but get as close as you can. You can use the aiming screws to slightly reposition it later on. Mark off where you are going to drill for the projector mounting holes...

7) To be continued...
