I havn't seen any Altezza Max in NYC yet.
I helped my friend installing the altezza lights.

you are wrong, i saw alteza here in NYC on max, its always parked in brooklyn around Ave Y and bedford ave, sometimes ave y and east 23. Looks okay with alteza not that great.

i seriously think that those tail lights would look 10 times better if you opened them up and painted the silver to match the color of the car, and just have the red showing

Try the heat gun idea .. every max I've seen cept the red one, and the white one with altezza's has looked kind of like, a Max trying to look like a honda, trying to look like a lexus .. It just doesn't work.

I really like them painted though, they look skyline-ish

come on dudes, those altezas make our maxima look like some kind of cheap honda. also i saw some maximas with altezas, looked so bad, not so sporty, better red/white.

my friend hangs out in Flushing a lot. He told me he saw some max with altezza, but i havn't.

guys, it is ok that you don't like Altezza, but there are plenty guys out there love it. so I don't give a **** what u think about Altezza.

by the ways, the way you talk **** about Altezza makes you to be more honda boys out there than a maxima with an altezza. so judge it by yourself.

Was the install difficult? What does it entail?

 

I went from stock to clears about 3 months ago (they looked pretty good) to Altezza's about 2 weeks ago (they are absolutely bad ***!) I'll post a pic up as soon as I get the Sarona Body Kit on. I've had nothing but major compliments on the new lights! But then again, i live in Idaho and everyones a few years behind

 

Boycotting em is stupid .. I don't like em but if you're gonna buy them, you're helping the overall cause of getting aftermarket parts for the max, so it's all good =) .. I'd consider buying some if someone takes theirs aparts, and paints in the inside the match their car .. That could look pretty badass.

 

no installation wasnt difficult, if you know how to use a wrench, take off 8 screws, pull off the old ones while disconnecting the wiring harness, hook in the new wires an i put new bulbs in, and then put the altezzas in and put the 8 screws back on, no biggy, does help to have a helper to hold stuff and help remove the lights while you disonnect the harness

 

For the outertailights, u guys ripped the wiring harness out of the tailight and then ripped off the plastic cover over the old tailight and used that for the new tailight and plugged in the connectors that came with the altezzas? is there a connection for the sidemarker??

i need help? can someone please explain step by step exactly how to install the outer tails, im very confused of how to install them?

all the connectors and wiring from the old lights will work for the new ones. I don't have a step by step, I just pulled the old ones off, plugged in the new ones and screwed 'em in. For the little lights ont he end, I had to break the plug off to free it from the old housing but no damage done.

 

for the outer light, you don't need the old plastic housing for the bulb no more, altezza comes with 2 wires with the connector which you can connect your bulbs. for the little one, you connect it the way it used to.

step by step:

1. unscrew 4 screw around the plastic housing (pic 2).
1.5 unplug all the wires for the light.
2. use the screw drive or pry to pry out the light from the gap, where my figure points at (pic 3).
3. you will see the hot glue the old housing has.
4. put your new light on.
5. connect the little corner light wire to the old connector.
6. connect the wires which comes with the Altezza light to the old connector.
7. plug the bulbs into the connectors.
There are two bulbs, make sure you put them back in in the same manner. upper one and lower one.

All i gotta say all u guys wit altezzas jus got money to waste theyre ugly and have no reason to be placed on maximas please dont ruin the look of the carrr

 

I agree. I considered them but then rejected the idea because they stand out too much. These Altezzas unmodified would look great on a silver Maxima, but that's about it. Painting them to match is definitely worth doing on a Maxima with darker paint (black, blue, red).

 

I also agree. I also think that we shouldn't boycott them because people that want them for the '97-'99 max's might not get them if there's no interest in them. I would only buy them if they could be opened up and painted a darker color. Or I was thinking of applying a carbon fibre film over the silver part which would look phat on my black max!

I feel sorry for those rice guys who made their maxima to look like a rice honda car.

 

hey now, its looks dang good, wait til you see some in person, since i see them every day, i have started to like them more and more each day

 

Dude I live in NYC and already saw Maxima like 6 or 7 times with alteza, looked like rice honda car. If you want you can come to Manhattan beach on fri, sat and sunday evenings where all young people get together and you will see some maxima, and some of them are with alteza. Very sorry pic to see.

IMO i would preffer red/white rears instead of alteza.

 

I have been wanting to take my altezza's apart since I got them and do the carbon fiber over the chrome or paint it black to match my car, but I havent got up to trying to take them apart, I really don't want to break them since they cost so much. Has anyone tried taking them aprt yet?

 

oh ya ill be there, i live in texas though, so maybe not, we have our own car shows here, there are usually 3 maximas, and every now and then a couple more show up, i changed all their minds from "im anti-altezza" to "those look pretty good actually" mine are on a red car, im sure you usually see them on black

 

With the Altezzas, I just wish people would stop *****ing and realize that this was a big step up in speaking of the popularity of our cars. TYC didn't have to make them, they took a big risk in making these, so now that they did, more and more manufacturers are taking notice of our Maximas, and making more custom parts as we speak, so I think people just might appreciate the Altezzas if they only knew where this is going after that step...

I dont know...It sounds like you guys live in areas where there are alot of maximas with the Altezzas, but here in Arizona there are...NONE I have not seen one pimped maxima. So when I get them I will be one of the first and I will stand out from all of the other cars!

 

ya i saw another one today, on my color even! well he was from out of town, but still, then of course i saw my own, and then they had one set at the show, though 10 places were selling altezzas, only one dealer had a set

 

1. stop flaming those with altezzas...everyone can have their opinion...thats fine.... but its not your cash or your car...so stop the flaming already its getting really old....start a new post for flamers or something so you can have all the fun *itching at each other...

2. for the guys thinking of taking them apart cause they don't like the chrome...i have a crazy idea....get some clear tailight covers and get them painted body color with only the red lenses showing...that way its kinda a skyline look for your max but you still have the altezza look for the rice honda boys that think they can race you on a friday or saturday night...lolo have fun guys

I personally will buy them for my max when they make one to fit a 97...
