Y-pipe is best single mod for the money. Suspension is next, but costs a lot more to do correctly. GOOD tires are never a bad idea, either.

If the car is new to you, don't do anything until you are positive that it is mechanically reliable.

Thats a lot!! Are you sure!? I may be wrong but that seems a little too high!? At the most, maybe 5, but thats stretching it!

The y-pipe is said to give you about 10 hp more.

My first mod was the clear bumper lights, then the Stillen Hi-flow intake and STS, then the y-pipe & full suspension, then the ACT clutch, then the wheels & NItto tires, then the catback exhaust, then the Technosquare ECU, then the UDP, then the 3.5 swap with a Fidanza flywheel, then the VAFC II, and then finally the I30T tranny with a new ACT HDSS kit... I just need to tune it now.

Sorry I kept going on and on.. it was just remembering everything I did to it.

It had tint and chrome indiglo gauges when I bought her.

I feel like I need more mods now...

I did a Berk Intake, and Truax SFC's(these are great)

Next is some Eibach springs and Illuminas and some Toyo 4's or Exclaim tires.

Then I need winter tires...freaking Buffalo

After that is brakes, maybe a Stage II LTB and then I may get headers and
o2 sims with a catback....

Yes, 15hp is way too high. Gotta love misinformation.

First was a custom CAI, then Motegi 19's with Nittos, full bodykit, HKS CarbonTI Exhaust, Clear Corners, Projector Fogs, Ksport springs, Camber kit, front strut bar, Red/smoke tails, replaced all bulbs, S2000 Engine Start Button, 15% Tint,

ICE: 7" Motorized Touchscreen w/Windows XP PC 120GB, Alpine Headunit, Polk Components (4Tweets/4Mids), 2 Infinity 12's, MTX Amplification, Xplore 2way alarm with remote start...

I'm probably forgetting some stuff but oh well

First mod, some hi-performance blinker fluid (+13HP modest, really) and I have the line on a flux capacitor that some professor is going to sell me.

J/k I asked a question about this in the 5th gen forums, and the consensus I got was to get some sort of intake, (I have Berk, love it) and remove the cats somehow. Then a light flywheel, etc.

i dont know about 15hp, maybe like 7 at max, and the stock "piping" is arguably better than any aftermarket peices (see: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ht=FRANKENCAR). y pipe is said to be able to add between like 15-25 if your looking for performance id say go with a ypipe

the car was already modded. With 15% tint a lil nice system but I gotta change the headunit was gonna do a carputer in the future. Has slotted rotors and hawk brake pads. Rear spoiler with clear LED mod. Allezza style tailights which gotta do for some clear/red. The car is def. in good shape. Body has 130000 and the motor has 52000 just got inspected with a 5gen clutch I beleive if its not that something to do with a 5 gen lol. Just did all interior leds gonna tackle my door switchs next then my guages. But thanks for the responses. Gonna go for a CAI next

No! get the Y-Pipe next then CAI if you want an intake. Although most say/believe that the stock intake works best with a K&N drop-in filter.

An intake yields 2-4 HP AT THE MOST.

No. Get a Y pipe. Or suspension...

Try this- you tell us what your budget is, what your goals (looks, performance, auto-X, drag, etc.) are, and how mechanically capable you are, and we'll take it from there.

Haha I was recommending that for now just get the K&N drop-in filter, it costs 40 bucks and while you have that you can get a y-pipe, suspension, VI, etc.

I'm not into noise so rather than get a CAI I opted for a Budget stainless steel y-pipe, coupled with a K&N panel filter. It works for me.

No discernible noise difference at idle or crusing, but a pleasant growl at WOT.

No fitment issues or bees in the can either.

Im goals are to make it look stock but with a few show goodies.. Example clear tails, lowered, some nice rims might go with 6 gen.....I want more performance then looks though..... Im pretty good mechanically... Plus I got my cuz who has a 98 maxima turbo to help me.....Budget right now is about $2000.. Suspension I got coilovers on the way..... I think im proibablly gonna do the y pipe seems like the most popular and worth the money mod.

I was going to get coilovers, but since we live in the northeast, people have advised against it, unless you want to change them back to stock every winter, plus, I hear it takes a lot of adjustment quite often to keep them where you want them. Just trying to look out for my people in the NE area...

My first mod was my suspension ADDCO RSB, Tokico Illumina Suspension Kit. That tightened things up. My first performance mod though. Y-pipe. I get better gas mileage and peformance. I love it.
