Sloppy/Loose Steering...

So, basically I'm having an issue with the steering in my 1995 GLE. I've had it for 2 years now, and since then, I've driven other cars around for other people, and lately I've been comparing how the steering feels in other brands of cars compared to my Max. I've always thought my car drove awesome, but lately I've grown to think my car should handle a bit tighter. It's seems way to easy to turn, and it just doesn't have that tight, road hugging feel to it. Haha, it feels like I'm using one of those steering wheel controllers for video games. So, is loose/sloppy steering common for our cars? And/or is this a way to fix this problem and make the car handle a bit tighter/sportier. Take into consideration I am on stock struts/springs for the time being, but still, my mom's 1998 Ford Contour has a tighter/sportier steering feel to it...any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only solution I was thinking about was replacing the steering rack when I upgrade my suspension, but I don't want to end up doing all of that work and still have the same sloppy/loose steering.

I searched the forums and found an article by Kevlo911, he replaced his steering rack and said the feel was soo much better, I'm pretty sure I'll swap steering racks now after reading that article, and anyone give me reassurance that this will cure the loose/slopping steering?

you can just replace the whole front-end. Control arms/busings. Sway-bar/bushings/endlinks. All-tie rods (or the entire rack). I'm pretty sure that will be much better.
