gear noise
i have a kind of rattling gear noise when i accellerate quickly in first second and third gear. usually happens at low rpms wheni give it a nice push on the gas pedal. could this be from low gear oil because i havent changed the gear oil since about 65-70000 miles, due to me not being able to get the drain plug off.
what could this be from?

any noise in Neutrel ... ? If so .. with or without the clutch in?
My input shaft bearing is worn and I can hear it, need to do a rebuild and I will soon ... just not enough time right now. I notice noise in N, but it's there all the time, just my intake and exahust is too loud to hear it under load. Sounds like rubbing two coins together.
Can you give us more detail ... how loud is it, does it get softer or louder under load, how long been making this noise? ... more detail will net you more responses

This is difficult to do an "internet diagnosis".
The rattling could be as simple as something that taps when the car is pushed forward very hard, which would be most likely to happen in 1st or 2nd. Or it could be something within the 1st or 2nd gear teeth pair.

Gear "rattle" caused from tooth damage usually sounds like a loud RRRRRRRR that is constant and varies exactly in pitch with the speed of the car. Just like reverse gear normally sounds, but louder.
It will change in sound depending on whether you're on the throttle or coasting/engine braking.
