changing intake manifold gasket

how hard is this to do and how long does it take

upper intake? About 1/2 hour, you don't really need to disconnect anything, just remove the 4-bolts plus the pita bracket bolts and egr bolts on the backside near the firewall and it will be enough to get the old out, thoroughly clean, and install the new nissan one. The haynes or chiltons will add iin a bunch of useless and time wasting steps to fully remove it.

so if your going to replace the just the gasket thats all you have to do but when you neeed to remove the whole thing off you need to take everything off??

Any time spent looking at and you will see there are many things bolted to the plenum. Obviously if you wanted it out of the car these things can't be attatched to it. You will have enough wiggle room by just removing the bolts that hold the plenum to the LIM and the two support brackets to swap the gasket.

Yeah if you asked that question maybe you shouldn't touch the plenumb, lots of vacuums, bolts etc. (no disrespect) but it not very easy, if u know how to do it it's easy >>just go very slow with manual at ur side, it'll prob take u several hours- while ur at it cleanout ur throttle, iacv> search forum there's tons of info on this

sorry for the bumb question just wasnt sure if i had to remove it if i was doing to do it this way
