Clock display keeps going on and off.

- fuse #18 (7.5 amps)
- fuse #21 (10 amps)
- fuse #40 (7.5 amps)
However, these fuses also serve other loads. If the clock display is the only malfunction, the fuses are probably good.
Remove the clock. This may be done with a small flat-blade screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver blade between the lower right hand corner of the plastic dashboard clock panel and the adjacent softer dash board. Slowly pry the panel up. Continue this at all four corners of the contoured panel until the metal snaps which anchor the panel are loose. Remove the panel by pulling outward and downward.
Note that the clock's electrical connector has four wires. With the ignition ON, backprobe the red/yellow wire. That is the 12 volt illumination supply. If you have 12 volts at the connector but the clock display is lacking, there is a problem inside the clock. 3Gen Maxima owners have this complaint more than 4Gen, and on 3Gen clocks the cause is usually a bad solder joint at resistor R10 or R19.

I don't think you have the same problem. Kev98MaxSE reports a loss of clock illumination. You report a loss of clock battery power. This might be caused by a momentary interruption of power delivered to the clock through fuse #40 (7.5 amps) and the yellow/blue wire to the clock connector. It might be a problem internal to the clock such as a cracked printed circuit board or a bad solder joint. Intermittent problems such as this are difficult to identify and repair.

Basically as you are trying to say that it would be cheaper for me to replace my clock unit? How much it would cost me to buy same clock? anyone knows answer?
