whoosh whoosh is it still my cv shaft??
I have recently had to replace both cv shafts. I did the driverside, mechanic did the passenger (even he had a hard time getting it out). Well I'm still whooshing at low speeds and when turning, especially left turns. I thought maybe it was a wheel bearing but I'm not getting any play in either wheel when tugging at em. I got under the car and there's a lot of wetness around the support bearing of the new passenger cv shaft. Any ideas WTH is wrong? I double checked the shaft itself, it's labeled correctly for my car.

well I just went under the car again, it's oil at the supoport bearing, coming from a leaky seal on some sensor right above it. Which brings me back to a wheel bearing. How much play in the wheel indicates a bad bearing? I'm not entirely sure what this could be; should I just take it to a shop?

ok looks like it's my tires. I went up to my mechanic, he was nice enough to ride around with me a bit, he says they're a little "scallioped" on the outside edge and is causing the noise. I noted that the noise seems to be more pronounced after I've been driving a while. I don't think I'll be getting the Falken Zieks next time around....
