I bought some 194 bulbs from autodynamic.com for use behind my guage cluster, but after only a few weeks of use they're already changing color. They also aren't very bright. I guess I shouldn't expect much for $1/bulb. Anyway, I was wondering where else I can purchase QUALITY blue bulbs that will last for a while. I'd prefer 168 since they're 5W and will be brighter, but if you have 194s and they're bright enough please tell me where you got them! I checked with my local Pep Boys and they only carry amber (ew). Thanks in advance!

RE: 194 bulbs...

I bought some 194R bulbs for my door courtesy light, and they have changed color in 2 weeks! Red to orange so fast...Maybe you should try mounting LEDs. The should last longer and be much brighter. Just trying to help.

I got my 194's from Pepboys. Did you buy bulbs with color impregnated glass, or are they just painted? If the glass has the color mixed into it, it won't change colors. I have a pair of the 1157s that are 2 years old and they still have not changed color. And my 194's are as bright as stock.

I don't know, it looks like they're painted because the base, where the connectors are, is clear and then it turns blue where the filament is. They are dark blue and not terribly bright... I think they're fine at night but in the evening or when it's rainy the guages are tough to see.

I assume you have blue ones. whitemax?

I guess I will go for a 30 mile trip to Pepboys. Do all of their 194 bulbs have color impregnated glass? And do you know if they have them in blue? Thanks.

I got some Polarg Hybrid's for my side markers and I like them really well...they are not painted but impregnated with color. Not blue though, hyper white.

For the door courtesy light, I chose AAA (American Auto Acessories) Blue colored bulbs and they have faded a bit over the last 6 months but have lasted longer than I anticipated.
