somthing is wrong here

today i started my car and drove around and the car was not running right.
every time i get it to 4k rpm it will like hesitate and make a popping sound maybe my cat or y pipe is f***ed or my mass air flow is bad. i went out and got a new mass airflow and its still doing it. this sounds like the car is drowning and hesitating to get past 4k.

anyone help on this

OBD II scan the sucka. It's a beautiful thing. Sounds like a possible cylinder misfire.

i just changed the plugs less than 5k ago. i would think its the coils, because its about time they got replaced and or they are just shieet because its a 96.
i think they tend to have coil problems right or wrong

'99's are the ones usually plagued with coil issues. '96 coils shouldn't give problems unless you have 150K+ miles on 'em. But a --cked injector isn't uncommon.

if it was a missfire his cel would flash on and off warning the driver of a missfire and that posible cat damage may occur... would it not?
