Shift Light Help!

I ordered me a shift light from ebay. Im wondering how to install it..I heard its just the power goes to the cigarette lighter in the fuse box, the ground goes to any grounding screw around the area, and the 3rd wire goes to the 1st pin on the ECu which is a red wire with a yellow stripe and your all set? is this correct?

you need to power it from something that gives 12v when the car is on. i always run it from the fuse box. ground it to a screw on the bottom door panel. that way its coverd.

If you are refering to my Autometer one... yes because there is a separate rpm activated switch (that is actually wired) which uses "rpm pill" modules...

shift light

RPM switch

Check www.jegs.com for prices... I can't remember since it's been like 7 years...
