The Max is having a hard time starting

The max used to start immediately when i turn the key, but now it seem to not want to start without a little gas and an extra split second of turning the key longer.

any suggestions guys?

Does this happen when hot or cold
it could be
ECTS
fuel filter
bad tps
or the infamos PCV valve

I also have similar problem recently. And I think mine is worse.

Sometimes when I turned the key all the way to start the car. Nothing happens! However if I put the key in the last position(not sure about the name, maybe ignition slot) for a while, say 3 or 5 seconds before I try again, it would start.

Seems like it happens more likely when it is hot and my car has been sitting in direct sunshine for a few hours. I live in southern California where it is sizzling hot these days. Nontheless, it happened in parking structure too. So I don't think hot temperature is the only key factor.

I installed a brand new starter six months ago. So starter problem is off the table in this issue.

I don't have any problem starting up in every morning(e.g. cold start).

I had my battery tested at Autozone, and it is good.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

replace your fuel filter if you have not done so. not enough fuel flow/pressure for cold start.

this also happens when you get close to an empty gas tank.

if that doesn't fix it, check your plugs.

after that there's a long list of sensors & other stuff. but first things first.
