So I noticed that my clutch was feeling a little soft, and the engagement point was getting lower, so I decided that I would bleed it. I opened the bleeder valve and the pedal went to the floor like its supposed to, but then it wouldn't stiffen up. I tried and tried, then took the slave cylinder out and made sure there was nothing blocking the holes in the banjo bolt. After reinstalling the slave, I then tried to get the pedal to stiffen no luck. At this point I'm lost. The master cylinder is supplying the fluid(Not sure if there's enough pressure), and the slave it receiving the fluid, but the slaves piston has very little throw to it, its even soft enough that you can push the piston back.

So I really can't tell if the master cylinder is supplying enough pressure or if I have a bad slave. Neither are leaking, and I know its not the release bearing causing the problem because the slaves piston barely touches it.

Any thoughts??

 

Clutch Flu.............man,this has to be like the 8th clutch problem in this month alone.Really dont know what to tell you, will ook into it though,bleeding helped myself and others.

If you were working by yourself and using the pedal to bleed the fluid, you did it wrong. Bleed it again.

You'll have to lift and push the pedal by hand. In fact, you may need a vacuum pump or powerbleeder this time since you might have enough air in the system to keep the pedal from working.

 

he's absolutely correct,ne person cant really do this.you will need someone in the car pumping the pedal while someone else in the engine losening up that screw and all.
