Cattman vs. Apexi WS2

Hello all,

Well me and my brother share this maxima and we have to aggree on the catback otherwise we will never end up buying one. So when I say cattman vs. apexi I mean noise, performance, quality, and fitment. MY brother thinks that the cattman will be too loud for his likeing, and that the apexi is the quiettest and he will like that one. Me I am more interested in the quality, performance, and fitment I dont really care about the noise as I know that everyone on this board loves cattman catbacks.

Please let me know what you think and post why you think that.

Thanks
Stephen

The exhaust sticky may be helpful in this decision.

Yea I have read that but we still have different opinions I just need the overall opinion of other people to see what you would chose.

I have the WS2 on mine and I think it's a bit too quiet. It's more like the stock as far as sound is concerned. I am planning on getting a y pipe and possibly a high flow cat which should make it a bit throatier (I hope). Unfortunatly I haven't heard the Catman setup to compare the two...

'Loudness' is too subjective. IMO, Cattman's system is not loud at all.

Once again Cattman FTW!!! If you don't have a y-pipe then both are going to be fairly quiet. A y-pipe will greatly increase the volume on both, the cattman being made from a performance stand point will sound louder with a y-pipe. Fittment on both are good but the cattman was made from the ground up for the maxima and it much better quality IMO... Oh and the Cattman has a much more subtle look to it than the Apexi which is good.

im his brother .... but yea i want it to be quiet.... we are planning on getting headers.. y pipe.. and cat back.. and all teh other parts in between... so thats gonna make it loud..

i want it to be close to stock sound... and although that wont be achieved .. it seems that the apexi will be the one that will bring us closer to that goal of a more quiet car. Agreed?

I'm not arguing that the cattman is built better or performs better... just that it is louder than the apexi.

FWIW, I'm supercharged. I have Cattman's headers, fastcat, and catback. It's pretty darn quit IMO.

Don't forget to take into consideration the superb resonator Cattman includes in his system. Coupled with the muffler, the exhaust is not loud at all.

i have cattmann headers, fastcat, and catback. i dont think its quiet but its also not loud. it has a nice deep tone not ricy at all. definitly the best exhaust out there now for the 4th gen. if you are looking ofr headers aslo brain had them im stock now. i had to wait two months for mine so go get em you only live once.

have warpspeed y-pipe, high flow cat, stock b-pipe (soon to get cattman hopefully) and Apexi WS2 exhaust.

its pretty quiet when ur not driving like an idiot. when i get on it, it unleashess a loud fury of rice and raspyness. (actually its not that bad, its prob due to the warpspeed)

personally i would go w/ cattman for top engineering quality, also i heard cattman exhausts cures cancer...

Search, this has been beaten to death.... I'll throw in my 2cents, the Apexi has smaller piping but it should not effect performance and it is quieter. I would go with it...
