95 maxima car keeps stalling
Hey Guys,
About a month ago my car keeps stalling at low speed/stop lights.
This only happens occasionally but it's really annoying. When I approach low speed/stop lights rpm goes down and car stalls. Usually it starts right back but I have to put some gas on it to keep it running. I took it to a mechanic and he can't seem to figure out what it is. I don't have any check engine light on. he cleaned my fuel injector, throttle, replaces spark plugs, said my battery was good. I have no idea what da hell it is.
Anyone know what the reason might be?
I own a 95gxe by the way.

Had same problem. It was the cat. I had something flapping around inside it and when I braked, that piece of debris somehow positioned itself to block exhaust flow. The engine turned off due to exhaust backup. Go check your cat!

is my computer broken or something...I mean obviously there is something wrong with the car but I get no codes...my mechanic did connect the computer to my car and said got nothing out of it...
also forgot to mention, My check engine light was on until 3 weeks ago when it decided to go away by itself...hence the reason why i can't figure out the problem..

I had the same problem on my 95 a couple years ago. It ran fine all winter but on the first warm day of spring it started stalling. I first thought MAF since it's affected by outside temperature, but it checked out okay using a multimeter. So then I spent alot of money and several months having different mechanics work on it, and it still wasn't fixed! So I got disgusted and decided it had to be the MAF. Of course Nissan wanted a fortune for a replacement, so I ended up finding an one at a junkyard off an Infiniti. Paid 70 bucks, put it on and problem was gone! I can't say for sure that's your problem, but try to track when it happens - i.e. does it stall more on hot afternoons than on cool mornings?, etc... Best bet is if you know someone that has a car like yours, switch out MAF's and see if it helps, before you actually spend the money on a replacement. Hope this helps.
