90 degrees and no air

THIS IS BULLSH*T. It started friday. It was like 90 out and I go to turn on my AC an nothing. I first thought that it was just blowing hot air out. After holiding my hand to the vent and feeling nothing I hit a bump in the road and boom. Crisp cold air. Then the same went on the weekend. Sometimes it just doesn't come on at all. My guess is a short in one of the wires, or a bad connection somewhere. Who can point me in the right direction to fix this?

Do you have an auto climate control? If so, follow the FSM procedure for manually testing the climate modes.

There is a single two-wire connector on the A/C compressor. If the wiring is bad, that's the point I would start to divide/conquer a possible electrical problem.

Double check the wire harness behind the climate control as well. That was my problem I had a while back.

My manual climate control went dead, and it didnt get cold. ofcourse, i coud control it, so that may not be your issue. Fan switch maybe? If you need one Ive got a working one. (if your manual of course).

Other than the switch...I'd agree with them on wiring.

I had a similar problem, next time it doesn't blow air..reach below the glove compartment and tap the fan/blower motor housing.. if it starts to run then it's prob ur blower motor going bad. If it blows cold air otherwise then I wouldn't be too concerned about the other components.

There is a fan switch amplifier in the evaporator box. It is prong to open and short. Look thru the FSM and good possibility is this amplifier is at fault.

To the OP: I lived in Southington before moving to Calif. I bought a car in Elmwood.

Hey Dude my today my AC only works/ when I trun the fan switch to III or IV, other than that it does not come on! Could it be a bad fan switch. I already checked the fuse(S), which were fine. What could be the problem?
