How long does it take to settle?

How long will it take for springs to settle? What factors come into play? I just installed illuminas and H&R. They are set on 5. Would the stiffer setting cause the settle time to be longer?

Also, I replaced my spring seats. The stock ones were very worn down and you can see the stock spring imprint. So with the new rubbers being more stiff and not having that indent, will it make the stance higher for a longer time until that wears down? Should I run it at setting 3 for a while?

This is a pic after 30 miles: Is this as good as it gets?

I cut a tire so I got a stock SE for now. I did about 300 miles and its only 6 days ago. Most is NYS thruway mileage. So I don't think thats helping me either.

h&r arnt the lowest springs out there so dont expect too much. but give it a few days to settle. IMHO maxima's dont look all that good slammed.. i think 2 or 3 finger gaps look great on the 4th gen.

it's not the spring that settles, the new bushings and spring seat are just getting set in. after a correct install, should be no later than a week. the H&R's aren't low at all, but the comfort+handling is unmatched. Makes me miss my car I'm contemplating getting a 4th gen with a 3.5 swap and call it a day. nice to see your car finally dropped

Really???? it says MAXecutive, my former name here on the org. And after numerous emails to the webmaster because my account won't let me post or access PM anymore, I just made a new account.

The old ones I already threw out. I should of taken a picture. It was compressed by at least a 1/2 inch and you can see the exact shape of the OEM spring. So I am wondering how long will that take to become close to that status? That might make it look slightly lower???

I surprise myself sometime when I look at my speedo after exiting a turn. Is that just because of the H&R or is my strut and sway bar really giving me that extra advantage?

BTW, i saw your post in another thread and was wondering what springs are those in your signature? Progress? How much different is H&R compared to Progress. I wouldn't mind slightly stiffer than this set up.

H&R and progress, the progress were a bit stiffer, but the difference was negligible. the pic in my sig shows H&R. the drop was about the same even though progress advertised a much lower stance. IMO, if I were to get another 4th gen and a spring/strut combo it will be progress / illumina. the ride is very similar, however, the handling and tight feeling is much more pronounced with the progress springs.

knowing what I know now, I'd probably source a set of tein SS coilovers instead, but progress makes a great spring, H&R is a very reputable company. both very good springs.

Mine took about a month give or take a week and lots of driving to settle, and we have pretty bad roads, I am sure comparable to NY. I have Eibach/ HPs and complete new bushings, boots, etc. I went from 2 finger gap to a little more than 1.

Nice looking Max BTW!

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the new rubbers play a factor and make the process longer. I'm starting to see them a little lower now.
